Hello, I’m Cameron, a student intern at Sarasota Addiction Specialists. Deciding to focus on your mental health is a courageous step, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with you. As a Sarasota native, I feel deeply connected to this community and I am committed to helping you navigate challenges and create a life that hits all the right notes.

I firmly believe that everyone has the power within themselves to make positive changes in their lives. My goal is to help you uncover that power by creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring your challenges, strengths and past. I also enjoy incorporating creative approaches, such as music, into our sessions to make the process as meaningful and effective as possible.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida State University and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in mental health counseling at National Louis University. My training and hands-on experience have given me the tools to support individuals facing anxiety, mood disorders, addictions, and life adjustments. I’ve had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, veterans, and older adults, and I strive to create a space where you feel understood and supported.

In my previous work at the VA, I contributed to research exploring how mood disorders and self-perception evolve over time. This experience, along with my background in case management and substance use counseling, has helped me understand the diverse and unique needs of each person I work with.
